Parents are welcome to observe
You are absolutely welcome to sit in on your child's online music lesson. For younger children in particular, having a parent nearby can make the lesson more comfortable and productive. It also allows you to see how the lesson is going and support practice at home.
Recommended for younger students
For students under 18, we recommend that a parent or guardian remains within earshot during lessons. For younger children, sitting in the same room is ideal. This is good practice for any online educational activity.
Let your teacher know
It is a good idea to mention to the teacher before the first lesson that you plan to be present. Most teachers are happy with this and it sets clear expectations from the start.
Lessons take place online in your home
All MusicStudio lessons take place via video call. The teacher does not visit your home. You are in a familiar, safe environment throughout, which gives parents a great deal of control over the lesson environment.
If you have concerns
If anything during a lesson makes you or your child uncomfortable, end the session and contact MusicStudio support at support@musicstudio.com. Your concern will be taken seriously.
