What is expected of MusicStudio teachers
Teachers on MusicStudio represent the platform to every student they teach. The following minimum standards apply to all teachers and are a condition of remaining active on the platform.
Technical requirements
- A reliable internet connection sufficient for stable video calls
- A working camera and microphone in good condition
- A well-lit environment where the student can see you and your instrument clearly
Professionalism
- Punctuality — be in the lesson room at or before the scheduled start time. Repeated late starts are grounds for account review.
- Prepared — know your student's level and have a plan for each lesson.
- Appropriate environment — do not teach from a moving vehicle, a noisy public space, or any setting that would distract from the lesson.
Communication
- Respond to student messages within a reasonable timeframe.
- Notify MusicStudio and the student as early as possible if you need to cancel a lesson.
- Maintain respectful, professional communication at all times — including in written messages on the platform.
Safeguarding
When teaching minors, adhere to best-practice safeguarding principles. Do not request personal contact details outside the platform. See our Safeguarding guidance for further detail.
